Clive Smith and his Arcadia Jazz Band South West.

Clive Smith stopped playing his trumpet for 30 years until he moved to Axminster Devon in the South West. It all changed the day he met Kathy Stobart. Due to her persistence ( Clive called it Bullying ! ) he started to play again, and so his connection with his idol Humph & his Band began. Clive Smith had from a very young age had a great love of Jazz music. Arcadia formed in 1996 under the watchful eye of Kathy Stobart. Pete Strange, Humphrey Lyttelton's arranger and trombone player got to work on arrangements in the Humph style, the band was launched into orbit supporting, greats like George Melly, Helen Shapiro, Don Lusher Best of British Jazz, Marion Montgomery , Kenny Ball and of course Humphrey Lyttelton and his Band on 9 occasions. Clive was overwhelmed in March 2009 when he was presented with Humphrey Lyttelton's trumpet mouthpiece.The Arcadia Jazz Band plays across the South West and plays on a regular basis at Center Parcs Longleat.
The Arcadia Jazz Band plays at venues from Fetes, Garden Parties, Weddings and fund raising events.
